Nurses are the last defense against the “business” of Healthcare.
Why are the nursing organizations trying to grow our profession by requiring that we get more education and higher degrees, only to stop us when we practice?
What stance should we be taking to stop the real damage from being done to patients while we stand by and watch once we know better?
Are we then not accomplices to any action that can cause a patient harm and shouldn’t we then be liable for the damage done to those patients who have entrusted themselves to our care?
More than that, once we know enough not to do harm, aren’t we even more ethically responsible to ourselves, our patients, our profession, and our God?  I feel we are. Apparently so did Amanda Trujillo.  Just sayin’
